Understanding Home Automation

The recipient of a bachelor of arts degree in sales from Cardone University, Joshua Frank of Houston, Texas is the owner and chief executive officer at Deep East Texas S and V. A technology enthusiast, Joshua Frank is interested in home technologies such as home automation.

Also known as domotics, home automation is the remote control of electronic devices in a home. In most cases, these devices connect to the internet in a system called the Internet of Things (IoT). With such inter-connectivity, gadgets can automatically trigger themselves and each other so that one doesn’t have to control them manually. For instance, one can set the lights to switch off after they leave the house or switch on the air conditioning system just before they get to the house from work.

Among the benefits, home automation can save electricity bills and heating and cooling costs. By incorporating the Internet of Things into the framework, home automation can enhance security and safety by allowing integration with security systems such as surveillance cameras.
